| Q |
Why do text messaging devices need confirmation codes? |
| A |
- To ensure you get the phone number and carrier right.
If you enter an incorrect email address, the email will generally get returned to you.
That doesn't happen with text devices, so you won't know you made a mistake.
-
To ensure the player / parent knows and agrees to get text messages from the club.
If they don't have a text messaging plan, they will be charged, and we don't want anyone to be surprised.

| Q |
In order to use the text function for tournaments do I need a special service for my phone? Right now I have unlimited texting but it is not a smart phone. |
| A |
You need web access to send a text message. My recommendation is to find someone
you trust on the team that has web access on their phone to send text messages when you don't have access to a computer. We can add that person as another manager for your pool.

|
| Q |
When I put in the text numbers, will I need to know the cell phone carrier? |
| A |
Yes. That's because we're actually sending the text messages via email, so we need to know the cell phone carrier to route them properly.
