Q Why do text messaging devices need confirmation codes?

  1. To ensure you get the phone number and carrier right. If you enter an incorrect email address, the email will generally get returned to you. That doesn't happen with text devices, so you won't know you made a mistake.
  2. To ensure the player / parent knows and agrees to get text messages from the club. If they don't have a text messaging plan, they will be charged, and we don't want anyone to be surprised.

Q When I put in the text numbers, will I need to know the cell phone carrier?
A Yes. That's because we're actually sending the text messages via email, so we need to know the cell phone carrier to route them properly.
